BAS (Business Activity Statement)

The form a GST registered business lodges with the ATO, usually quarterly, reporting GST collected and paid along with PAYG instalments and withholding. Lenders use lodged BAS as independent evidence of turnover in alt doc and low doc assessments, since it is reported to the ATO rather than self-declared.
