Hire Purchase

A structure where the financier buys the asset and hires it to the business, with ownership transferring automatically once the final instalment is paid. It sits between a lease and a chattel mortgage. Chattel mortgage has largely displaced it in Australia since the 2012 GST changes, though it is still offered.
