Owner Occupier

A borrower who lives in the property being financed, as distinct from an investor. Owner occupier loans generally carry lower rates than investment loans because regulators and lenders treat them as lower risk. Moving out and renting the property changes its status, and you are required to tell your lender rather than leave the loan classified incorrectly.
