Someone whose income comes from their own business rather than PAYG wages, whether as a sole trader, through a company, or through a trust. Full doc lenders typically want two years of tax returns and financials. Where those are not available or do not reflect current trading, alt doc and low doc options use BAS, bank statements or an accountant's declaration instead.
